Friday Update

Happy Football Friday,

We had a great day in the classroom and got the chance to enjoy this beautiful weather on several  occasions this week. We focused on speaking and listening skills through our Native American presentations. The students are having to communicate in groups of 5  to co-create a slideshow and script that they will present next Friday. I have been so proud of how they are taking on the new task of researching and determining what is most important to share. We also started learning about narrative writing which we will be working on for several weeks.

I also want to thank all of you that ordered from our Scholastic order this quarter. With the bonus teacher points I was able to order 8 new classroom books! The kids will love to get there hands on some new classroom books.

The new classroom books include:
The iFunny series by James Patterson
I Survived: The Joplin Tornado
I Survived: September 11th 2001
2nd copy of Harry Potter Sorcerer's Stone
The Making Of A Navy Seal
Class Dismissed
The Ghost's Grave
A Spanish/English Book

Next Week:
Finish up Presentations
Start adjectives in grammar
Start the writing process
Become RACE experts

Reminders:
Students should be filling out assignment books daily to keep you informed
I am fine with students snacking during class if it doesn't become a huge distraction, please keep the daily classroom snacks to healthy snacks and water
