End Of Semester

Happy Friday!

This is one of most anticipated days of the year for all of the students. The semester is ending and Christmas is on the horizon. The kids spent their day doing rotations. They had rotations in an origami room where they followed directions online to create some amazing peices, a movie room with Mr. Swift,  math games with Ms. Hake, and a study hall rotations with myself to finish up missing work. We also had a classroom celebration (thanks for the treats), and a school wide assembly. (pictures below)

Semester recap:
Students have had a busy first semester getting use to a new building and much more responsibility. They are all doing so great with the change and are truly coming into their own.
Some of our biggest focuses were: RACE, Native Americans, Age of Exploration, Text Structures, Theme, Summarizing, and Compare and Contrast.

Next Semester:
The upcoming semester is full of new information. The students will become essay and informational writing "experts". They will continue the focus on gaining reading breadth with new genres and higher levels. They will take a journey from the formation of colonies to the creation of our country.
