Update

Parents,

This short week was full of activities here at Upper. We had our Scholastic Book Fair, the Major Saver limo/pizza party, and parent teacher conferences. We had a great turn out for conferences here on the Aristocats team. We all want to thank you for coming. We really enjoyed getting to talk to you about your students and share their accomplishments this year.
Also this week In ELA we worked on our personal narratives. They are publishing and working on the final steps of revising. Below I put our anchor charts of what we worked on during class to keep you informed. 

Reminders:
Friday October 30th is Twin Day

FCA is a club offered after school on Tuesdays after school until 3:20pm

What We Are Working On Next Week:
Publishing our Narratives
Finding common themes in books/short stories/ poetry
Continuing book clubs
Writing descriptive scary stories 
Working collaboratively with their team to close read poetry

Robotics Parents:
We will be having practice this upcoming Tuesday. On that day please make sure you send your students with a signed note stating they can attend the Camdenton robotics tournament on November 14th (if you haven't already). Also we will be ordering shirts next week, the money must be turned in first. It is $9.66 cash or check payable to Hometown Sports. I put a picture of the design below. We will be sending home more detailed information about Camdenton shortly.

No excuse word list: A list of words the students helped come up with that they should have "no excuse" to spell incorrectly in 5th grade. There will be a quiz on Friday. I will reward students who get 80% or higher and I will send the test home graded for you to see.
